Side walk paint

Here is a fun activity to do with the kids this summer. We had a fun day in the sun painting with side walk paint. I found the recipe here at this site . And we decided to write daddy a message for when he got home.

If you try it out let me know what messages you write!!!

Here is the recipe
1/4 cup corn starch
1/4 cup water
food coloring.

I only made blue cause that is Eben's favorite color but other ideas I saw where to put different colors in spray bottles and let them "spray" paint.

peanut butter chocolate chipe cookies

Yesterday I let Eben make cookies almost all by himself. I had the ingredients all out and he put them in, mixed them and then enjoyed eating them. Here are some pictures from our adventure yesterday. He always puts on his cute chef hat which I made him a few Christmas' ago and his apron when he is baking.

Start with favorite spoon. Which was used more then once during the baking as a drum stick.

Get caught eating the peanut butter straight from the jar.

Mix all ingredients together.

Jaelyn really wanted to help to.

Enjoy warm cookies out of the oven.

want the recipe

1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter (use 1/4 natural and 1/4 regular)
1/2 cup margarine
1 egg
1 1/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
As many chocolate chips as you like

1. Mix sugars, peanut butter, margarine and egg in a large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. 2. Let sit in the fridge for 20 minutes (this helps make the dough easy to work with)
3. heat oven to 375
4. Shape dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
5. Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork
6. Bake 9-10 minutes.

Makes ~ 2 1/2 dozen

Mango Popsicle

Summer is finally!! There is nothing like waking up in the morning to the beautiful hot sun shine that last all day long. I love the summer...every single thing about it. One thing I really love about summer is the treats you get to enjoy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE ice cream and Popsicles. I would eat them probably every day but they are expensive and they contain a lot of sugar and food dye. So when Eben was around for his first summer I started searching for recipes to make my own. Some times the price is about the same to make healthy pops but that's the thing they are are healthy with no added dyes or extra sugar.

So far this summer our favorite is Mango! Lady J loves them so much. I have a list of Popsicle recipes that I want to try so hopefully I will have a few more recipes to add by the end of the summer. After picking some Strawberries this week I think I will do the strawberry version listed in the recipe as well.

If Mango isn't your thing try these blueberry, Spinach, or frozen yogurt.

If you have any great recipes that you would like to share please do so.
