Cookie dough dip

So the other night I was looking through my Sweet Treat board on Pinterest to see if anything sparked my eye to make to take to my friends house that evening as we were having a Duggar watching party.  I came across this chocolate chip cookie dough dip and decided that would be the prefect treat to take with some apples and Graham crackers.

Cookie Dough Dip Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toffee bits

Instructions
  1. Cream together cream cheese and butter.
  2. Add all remaining ingredients and mix until well-combined.
  3. Serve with graham crackers or apple wedges.

Notes
Do NOT use reduced fat cream cheese as it may cause your dip to have the wrong consistency.

The dip was so delicious.  I was thinking that you could make it and store it in little containers in the fridge and use it as Dunkaroo dip for kids lunches or snacks instead of buying the over priced high fat snacks.

I make a very popular (if I do say so myself, lol!) and similar dip (and you can use low fat cream cheese if you'd like):

1 package cream cheese
~ 1/2c brown sugar (depends on how sweet you like it)

I use this as a base and then add any of the following:
mini chocolate chips
Oreo crumbs
Toffee bits
A little bit of syrup (chocolate, caramel, etc)

If you want a runnier dip you can warm the cream cheese in the microwave first (then even if you put it in the fridge it will still be softer).

Usually I turn it into a "cheese ball" by letting it sit in the fridge for ~30minutes, forming a ball and coating it in either oreo crumbs or graham crumbs. And you are right- it keeps very well in the fridge. And thanks to the longish shelf life of cream cheese I always stock up when there's a great sale so that I can make this for all sorts of events.

A super cute variation is to use icing sugar instead of the brown sugar with the mini chips. Scoop it into little balls on a plate- it totally looks like ice cream!

I can't believe I'm giving away my secret ;)
