DIY wedding gifts

Here is a fun project I did last weekend for a wedding gift.  Sorry I don't have many pictures but I was working fast to get them done.

So I started out with this beautiful porcelaine fruit bowl; which I got on clearance!!!   And these two porcelaine pens.  One was fine tip and the other was a thicker tip.  For the bowl (sorry I don't have any after picture)  I put the couples monogram in the center of the bowl.  Then around the edges I wrote out the scripture Galatians 5:22; the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentless and self control.  After it sat for 24 hours I baked it in the oven according to the instructions on the pens.

I really love how they turned out and will be getting some different marker colors to do up some more gifts and even cute things for around our kitchen.

Here are the cute little Salt and Pepper shakers I also did.

So what kind of wedding gifts do you usually give?  Are they homemade or do you stick to things on the couples registry?
